We, the "Zur alten Mühle" Waldhart KG guesthouse, take the protection of your personal data very seriously. Your data is collected, processed, and used on our website in accordance with the legal regulations (General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG), Telecommunications Act (TKG). In this data protection information, we inform you about the most important aspects of data processing within the framework of our website.

If you contact us via inquiry form, online booking, or email, your provided data will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and for follow-up questions.
Data Storage
Please note that for the purpose of simplifying the booking process and for subsequent contract processing, the IP data of the connection owner is stored via cookies.
The data provided by you is required for the fulfillment of the contract or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. Without this data, we cannot conclude the contract with you. Data will not be transmitted to third parties, with the exception of the transmission of credit card data to the processing bank institutes / payment service providers for the purpose of debiting the booking price, to fulfill the Registration Law as well as to our tax advisor to fulfill tax obligations.
In the event of a contract being concluded, all data from the contractual relationship will be processed in accordance with Federal Fiscal Code stored until the expiry of the tax retention period of seven years. In addition, the accommodation company is obliged to maintain a guest register in accordance with §10 Registration Law, the retention obligation of which comprises seven years.
The data name, address and travel data are also stored. Data processing takes place on the basis of the legal provisions of § 96 Para 3 TKG as well as Art 6 Para 1 lit a (consent) and/or lit b (necessary for the fulfillment of the contract) of the GDPR.
We use the following data when you conclude a contract with us
- Master Data
First name, last name, full address, all contact information (e.g., email address, phone number), information about the type and content of our contractual relationship. - Other personal data that you or third parties provide to us with your consent or otherwise lawfully during contract initiation, during the contractual relationship, or for the fulfillment of legal obligations (date of birth or age, marital status, gender, occupation, identification data, bank details, signing or representation authority, contract commitment, cancellation/cancellation periods, or further information about yourself that you have provided to us).
Engagement of Processors
The protection of your data is important to us. Even if we use a processor, we ensure that the processing takes place within the European Union.
Registration Data
According to the Austrian Registration Act, you are obliged to register with us using the data specified in § 5 and § 10 of the Registration Act. This concerns the following data:
Name, date of birth, gender, nationality, country of origin, address including postal code, and – for foreign guests – type, number, issue date, and issuing authority of a travel document, as well as the date of arrival and departure.
Due to the legal obligation imposed on us according to § 19 of the Registration Act Implementation Ordinance, we will keep this data in a guest register and store it for a period of 7 (seven) years, unless it is processed longer for other purposes mentioned in this privacy policy.
The guest register is maintained electronically by us, for which purpose we forward the data to an IT processor (Casablanca Hotelsoftware GmbH). The data is stored locally with them. No transfer to a third country takes place.
The data categories "Arrival", "Departure" linked with country of origin are forwarded to the municipality where our accommodation is located, in accordance with § 6 of the Tourism Statistics Ordinance. Aggregated data on the total number of overnight stays and the persons obliged to pay the local tax must also be transmitted to Ötztal Tourism, to which we belong, and/or the municipality. This is done on the basis of § 19 of the Tyrolean Local Tax Act.
The processing operations according to points 1.1 to 1.3 above are based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR.
Additionally, we forward your postal code and year of birth (in pseudonymized or anonymized form) to our municipality and our tourism association (TVB) for the creation and evaluation of origin and age statistics by the tourism association. This forwarding is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit e (task in the public interest) and lit f (overriding legitimate interests) GDPR. You can object to this at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation (Art. 21 para 1 GDPR).
Summer Card
You have the option to use the Summer Card. The Summer Card grants you discounts and/or services at various businesses in the region (e.g., reduced admission fees). The Summer Card is valid after the first night of your stay.
The Summer Card is only issued and provided upon your request. It is issued in the form of an electronically generated card.
For the electronically generated Summer Card, the following personal data, which is determined from the registration data (see above), is processed:
First name, last name, date of birth, country of origin/postal code, and period of stay (arrival/departure).
When using the Summer Card, the following additional personal data is processed: data on the usage cycle of the respective card, service usage, and the accommodation provider.
The data is required to determine identity on the one hand, and the validity period of the SummerCard with the respective service provider on the other, and to enable the billing of discounts between service providers, Ötztal Tourism, and the accommodation providers.
Legal Basis for Processing
The processing of data for the purposes of the Summer Card takes place based on your consent (Art. 6 para 1 lit a GDPR).
Consent can be revoked by you at any time, verbally or in writing.
Other Processing of your Data
In principle, we only process data that is absolutely necessary for concluding a contract or for fulfilling a contract. If you have also given us corresponding consent, we process your data to send you information about our services until revoked. We use the following communication channels, provided you have given them to us:
