The name of our house is closely linked to the history of the area: Just above our pension is the old water mill that gives us our name, which was used to grind grain. Although it is unfortunately in a dilapidated condition, it still tells of days long past and the agricultural tradition in Sölden.
The Pension "Zur alten Mühle" is more than just a place to relax. For us, she is part of our family history.
2024Second generation
In October 2024, we had to say goodbye to Roswitha with a heavy heart. Her life's work, her warmth and the cordiality with which she welcomed our guests still characterize our house today. In loving memory, her husband Rudi and her son Lukas continue to run the family business – always striving to make the spirit and special ambiance that Roswitha created tangible in the future.2014Changeover from half board to bed and breakfast
Until 2014, we spoiled our guests with half board, where Roswitha's culinary creations became a trademark that has remained in the best memory of not only regular guests. This was followed by a changeover to a bed and breakfast, accompanied by a redesign of our breakfast room. Another significant milestone was the renovation in 2021. Two new apartments were created – a first step towards handing the business over to the next generation.1988Construction and opening
In 1988, Roswitha and Rudi Waldhart fulfilled a long-held dream. On the site where Roswitha's family used to cultivate a potato field, they built the Pension "Zur alten Mühle". A house that would be a home for her family and a retreat for guests. As a passionate host, Roswitha wanted to enable every guest to have a wonderful vacation in her home. She ran the house with dedication and warmth, where everyone immediately felt welcome.
Welcome to our home!
